First Colonial Era

The first colony formally established was Astarchus, starting with the city of Astol in 1853 B.F. by Formere. Not long after that was Jailur in 1849 B.F., followed by Latinia (which would later become the city state of Latisc) in 1845 B.F. Between 1853 B.F. and 1795 B.F. , tens of colonies began to break out across the continent, seeing the success of the initial ones founded by Formere, Jailur, and Selisa. For the sake of brevity, they are not listed within this text, but they followed much the same societal structure as either the most prominent initial colonies or their parent kingdoms.

Until 1788 B.F., relations as a whole between these colonies and the ever-present natives were neutral at worse, if perhaps a bit uneasy. However, as colonists began to move inward within the continent, particularly into the Glistening Plains, outright conflicts began to break out between between them and the natives. This would culminate into a series of wars between the colonists and the native tribes, starting with the Plains War in 1774 B.F. The Plains War started over a simple territorial dispute between a colony of Lempisch and the tribe of Taiuarija, eventually culminating into an entire military campaign. While the Lempischan colonists would prevail, they would still take very heavy losses, due to their unfamiliarity with the terrain. Many similar disputes would break out continent wide, such as the Aurikyan War in 1768 B.F.

Most of these conflicts would ultimately result in a victory for the colonists, resulting in major concessions of land from the tribes. By 1700 B.F., tribal land was reduced to less than half of what it had initially been prior to the arrival of outside kingdoms. However, things seemed only to be getting worse for the native population. Many colonies began to institute harsh policies against the tribes, curtailing trade between themselves and the natives, starting with the Tribes Exclusion pact signed by several colonies in 1668 . While this did negatively affect the colonies, the philosophy at the time was that it would hurt the natives more than it hurt them.

However, the tribes slowly began to become more self-sufficient, and by 1650 B.F. they had ultimately recuperated much, though not all, of the lost land, thanks to a key series of surprise victories by the Ocideiea. The colonies were distracted by rising tensions between each other, and could not have foreseen they would be on the defensive. Ultimately, these rising tensions lead to wars breaking out between the colonies themselves from 1650-1600, lashing out against their nearby neighbors in a desperate attempt to grab anything they could to satiate their bloodthirsty leaders and feed their starving populations. This lead to a slow collapse cascading out through the colonies as a whole, leaving a power vacuum in place by 1575, as the continent held its breathe in anticipation of what colonial despot would emerge.

This power vacuum was filled by one Renatus Tellion, who had managed to unite not all, but most of the Tellian tribes under one banner, declaring himself the "Sovereign, Highest Lord and Leader of the Tribes" in 1560. The title would later simply be shortened to "Sovereign" coloquially, which Renatus would adopt as well.
